Where Do You Want To Go Today?

How about checking out some of the great programs presented below.

You are visitor: Countersince 6:th october 1996

These programs presented below are programs that I like. Some are beta-products and other shareware. I take no resposibility for what these programs might do if you decide to use them. Most of these programs are only available for windows95 and windowsNT.

Go to Matrox homepage. The creator of the wonderful Graphics Card Matrox Millenium. It's fast. I'll have more on this later.

Email ferret. This program makes life easier for you. You enter the email address you're looking for and then this program goes out on the net and asks several email search engines and then finally presents the result neatly in a window on your computer. Click here to se how the ferrets work. Vironix is the mind behind this.

Web Ferret. This is the program if you spend a lot of your time on the net at different search engines trying to locate a certain page containing the information you seek. Enter you query in to this program and then it will go out to Altavista, Yahoo, Infoseek etc and return the result to you in a window. Vironix created this.

News Ferret. This program does the hard work if you need to find anything in newsgroup. It asks different search engines containing this information and presents it to you in a window. Vironix is behind this as well.

File Ferret. If you're looking for a special file on the net, you know sometimes you have to look for ever to find it. Hopefully not anymore if you use this program. To basically see how it works click here for an example with the emailferret. Vironix created this as well.

IRC Ferret. This program will search the IRC Networks around the world to find users on them. Searches are specified by the keywords you enter, matching them against every IRC users email address, nickname, and description. You can even limit specific channels to search. Vironix - need I say more.

FTP Explorer. This program is a FTPclient which looks very much like the explorer that comes with windows 95 and windows NT 4.0. It has several options where you for instance can have it automatically download certain files specified by you. This allows you to download and display indexfiles without clicking. You can choose not to download files larger than what you enter in the preferences. Found this on www.ftpx.com.

Media Center. This program is great to organize your media files. If you have many pictures or soundfiles you'll be impressed how easy life can be if you have Media Center installed on your computer. You can easily open external editors from within Media Center to edit your media files. This shareware has a 30 day trial period. JASC created this.

Paint Shop Pro 4.1. The king among shareware graphics programs has now come in a new version. If you can't afford Photoshop or any other "professional" graphics package taka a look at this. JASC made this one as well.

Batch Master. This is THE PROGRAM to convert large amounts of files from one graphic format to another. You just enter the wanted settings in to the program and go to sleep. The next morning all 2000 pictures in tga format on your harddrives are also available in jpg-format. Shareware. JASC once again.

Professional Capture System. Yabba-dabba-doo. A program that easily captures your screen the way you want it to. You can set it to capture area, full screen, client area, window, object or defined size. Very easy to use. Shareware. JASC did it again.

Claris Homepage Beta. This program is GREAT. You can greate nice webpages in a flash. No earlier HTML-experience is needed to create your webpages. You might ask yourself why my pages aren't better if I use this wonderful program. Mail your comments to me. Claris is behind this revolutionary program which you may try for a short period.

Acrobat reader. This program is used to read the PDF-format. A format that more and more begin to use. This program allows you to "read" files of this type. This is a produkt of Adobe.

Netscape. The king among webbrowsers. At least if you look on the number of users. Download Netscape Gold to create your own webpages. I've used 2.02 Gold but i miss some features. I don't know if these are included in 3.0. Anyway it's very easy to make webpages without previous HTML knowledge. On netscapes site you'll also find links to most plug-ins and other helpful hints.

Internet Explorer. Microsofts attempt to steal the browser market from Nescape. This is still free and does a quite good job. Which browser you like best is very individual. Produkt of Microsoft.

Winzip. The program you can't live without. This makes archives and extracts them very easily. You never need to remember any tricky letter combinations.
